We are committed to the ideal that no one in our region should ever have to struggle with hunger. With this in mind the Ottawa Food Bank collects and distributes food to community food programs, who then provide it to those in need.

The Stittsville Food Bank provides a helping hand to those in need in the Stittsville Ward 6 boundary in the City of Ottawa, which includes the communities of Stittsville and the surrounding rural areas. They distribute non-perishable and perishable food items as well as a limited list of personal toiletries. The Stittsville Food Bank is run entirely by unpaid volunteers and has been in operation since 1992.

Our community Food Bank is a registered charity; to remain responsive to the needs of our community WCFAC is completely independent from Ottawa Food Bank and the City.

The Community Table operates with a clear and compassionate purpose. Their mission is to foster a healthier and more connected community. They accomplish this by increasing access to healthy food and improving food skills and food literacy. The organization also advocates for individual well-being and educates the community about social policies. Beyond food distribution, they focus on addressing food insecurity and poverty through community engagement. The organization emphasizes serving people with dignity and respect in every interaction. Volunteers offer a safe, non-judgmental space where guests are treated as valued neighbors. The Community Table recognizes that food banks address immediate needs but also aim to show people that their community cares.

The Richmond Food Bank is a non-profit, charitable organization. The mission of the Richmond Food Bank is to provide access to non-perishable food and personal care items to individuals and families in need, in Richmond, Munster, and the immediate surrounding area.

An on-call dentist is available to take your emergency from 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week.

The Ottawa Dental Society coordinates a voluntary dental emergency referral service. Patients are encouraged to contact the on-call dentist directly to make arrangements for the emergency visit. Patients are responsible for any fees incurred for the diagnosis and treatment rendered.

Queensway Carleton Hospital

If you or a loved one is in a life-threatening situation, dial 911 or go to your nearest hospital Emergency Department. If you are unsure whether it is an emergency, you may call Telehealth Ontario, a free telephone service from the Ontario Government at 1-866-797-0000 and speak with one of their nurses or you should visit your closest Emergency Department.

Queensway Carleton Hospital’s Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
